At park restrooms
I startle thirty deer.
Asian mother
Terracing front lawn for comestibles
In urban Vancouver.
Prodigious bounds
Not high enough
Cat has grasshopper lunch.
Resentful husband
Paces impatiently
Outside ladies’ room.
Admiring bronze sculptures
A yellow maple leaf
Lands on my head.
Lying next to him
Slow asphyxiation
By pinto beans.
Trickle trickle
Bright mountain stream?
No--broken toilet.
Daily walk holds surprises
Squirrel munches bagel
Deer lying like large brown cats.
