Welcome to Wax Tadpole Linguistics. My primary language pair is English and Spanish. I translate between Spanish and English in either direction and for a wide variety of dialects. I have additional skills in German, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
Credentials:
Certification in Medical Interpretation.
Two years Ph.D. work in Theoretical Linguistics.

I have lived in Mexico, Spain, and Japan, and traveled widely, including Western Europe, Iceland, Cuba, Guatemala, Ecuador and Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, and Israel.
I have twenty years’ experience in translation and language instruction. I believe that a correct, accurate, and culturally appropriate translation reflects a provider’s respect for its clients. The truth is that there is still no substitute for a professional, experienced human translator. Translation software is still very much in its infancy: it is unable to deal with most idioms, nor gauge cultural suitability, and its results are fraught with errors. These mistakes, besides offering an unprofessional presentation, can create potentially grave misunderstandings and may lead to unfortunate and/or embarrassing commercial, legal, medical, or personal problems.
The large, impersonal translation agencies are primarily concerned with technical jargon only—e.g., software, hardware—and do not have the range or variety of contextual and real-life experience and training that I offer. They may also be unable to give each project the dedicated care it deserves.
